![]() ![]() My biggest issue with the book is that the little girl feeds the crow from her own snacks and there is no information anywhere in the book about what is safe or harmful for feeding wildlife. I'm glad she figured out a way to prove her innocence and that her parents felt some remorse for doubting her in the first place. The part of the story where no one, not even her parents, believed her (that the bird had given her a turquoise earring and that she hadn't taken it from someone else) was poignant. ![]() I like how she got over her dislike of birds by getting to know one individual. I really enjoyed many elements of this sweet story of friendship between a girl and a crow. The story is inspired by a news story about a girl who made friends with a crow by filling a birdbath with fresh water and leaving it nuts every morning (in return, the crow brought her presents like buttons, screws and other little shiny treasures). That cover is just so adorable and the illustrations inside don't disappoint. ![]()
